We are conscious that some patients registered at Lockstown Practice may be affected by current events in Afghanistan.  Lockstown Practice is accredited by the Royal College of General Practitioners as one which specialises in the care of military veterans and their families. All the team have been trained in the care of military veterans and their families. If recent events have affected you and you wish to seek help, please come forward.

All eligible 12-15 year old patients who have been identified as eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine will be contacted directly to attend for their vaccine. Please do not contact the surgery to book

You can walk in to Saddlers Vaccination Centre, Walsall seven days a week, 8am to 7pm, for both first and second doses of Pfizer and AstraZeneca - No appointment necessary.

Nurse Practitioners

An advanced Nurse Practitioner is a nurse who has undergone further training in order to able to assess, investigate, diagnose and treat patients, together with the ability to prescribe medications. They are able to deal both with ongoing chronic medical conditions and also acute illness. An Advance Nurse practitioner can request investigations including blood tests, xrays and ultrasound scans. They can also refer patients to hospitals and other appropriate agencies and admits patients to hospitals if required.

The practice nurse will help you with various problems including: -Children's immunisations, Cervical Smear Tests, Ear syringing, Dressings, Dietary Advice, Health Checks, Free condom service, Travel Advice & vaccinations, Family Planning

Regular check-ups are available for diabetics, asthmatics, heart/stroke patients and patients with high blood pressure.

Nurses are also very happy to discuss menopause and contraception, please enquire at reception.

All of our nurses do telephone triage to deal with any urgent medical issues
